Agroecology Technician Certificate

Through a USDA NIFA Agricultural Workforce Training Grant, À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ has created an Agroecology Technician Certificate program. This certificate prepares students for entry-level fieldwork supporting professionals in resource and wildlife management and environmental evaluation.

Who Can Apply?

The next class will be offered in June 2026 at Highlander Ranch for current high school students in grades 9–12.

Application Deadline: May 15, 2026.

How Is the Program Delivered?

  • À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ 70% of the content is online
  • À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ 30% is in person at Highlander Ranch, Monday–Thursday, June 1–July 7, from 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
  • No in-person meetings on June 18, July 2, or July 3

What Will You Learn?

After completing the program, you will be able to:

  • Assist environmental engineers, biologists, farmers, and ranchers with management, research, and consulting
  • Perform data analysis
  • Observe, track, and record ecological conditions and their effects on habitats
  • Use specialized equipment to collect and analyze specimens
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment
  • Perform population analysis
  • Communicate clearly and logically
  • Work as part of a team
  • Earn the Ducks Unlimited Ecology Conservation & Management Certificate, a TEA-recognized credential
